  • A fruit stand on 14th Street in Manhattan NYC, 2012.

    I don’t know if it’s the same guy, but the last time I passed through Union Square there was still a fruit vendor in the same location. This is right outside the Joe’s Pizza location, next to Trader Joe’s.

    This was the first time the sun set on me while inside Iraq during the American invasion of the country in 2003. It was the moment I realized that “this shit is really happening” and it might be the first day of the last leg of my journey through life. Thankfully, it wasn’t.

    Granted, I don’t go out as much as I used to when I was in college, but Union Square looks more alive in this photo than I’ve seen it in years.

  • A late birthday gift from my Mom.

    I had COVID-19 on my birthday, so we just got together today and had burgers at @habitburgergrill. They rarely disappoint and today the burger was excellent. I also appreciated the card, which was very thoughtfully written and looks amazing. Thanks, Mom!
